I started to experiment with the multiples, moving the camera closer when I was shooting, chopping off parts of the head and trying to infuse more psychology into the grids I was constructing.

 
 
 
 

I started making pieces that were more direct examinations of myself. Hindsight suggests that I was experimenting with ideas not just about who I was then, but who I might be when Mary Ann wasn’t around anymore.
